For the past 15 years, Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok has organized annual charity fun runs to raise funds for cancer research in conjunction with Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. Last year’s run successfully raised THB 3.9 million, which was donated to the Genetic Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross Society.
This year’s event will be the 5th Cancer Care run, and will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Lumpini Park in central Bangkok, in association with the Thai Red Cross Society and with the support of the Canadian Embassy as well as major sponsors and media partners. Proceeds from the run will go towards research projects currently conducted by the Hematological Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital.
Beginning and ending inside Lumpini Park, the run promises to be a fun and enjoyable Saturday outing for serious runners, joggers, families, and those just wanting to get some fresh air and take part in a great event for a good cause. Runners may choose from either the 5 km or the 10 km routes, both perfect for running or walking, and people of all ages are welcome to participate. Children’s activities will also be taking place on the day, and the Queen’s Trophy will be awarded to the largest group of runners. Prizes also await participants who reach the finish line for the 5 km and 10 km runners. Registration is from 7:00 to 7:45 am and the official starting time is at 8:05 am.
All are invited to participate in the run with a minimum donation of THB 350.00, including an official Cancer Care t-shirt, or THB 500.00 including an official polo shirt. All runners will also receive a breakfast box and the chance to win exciting prizes such as accommodation vouchers at various Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world, and many more besides.
