Black Meetings & Tourism Again Names Richards One of the Most Influential Managers in Hospitality/Me

Black Meetings & Tourism has named U.S. Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards to their exclusive list of the most influential African-American managers in the hospitality, meetings and tourism industry. Commissioner Richards will be featured for the third consecutive year in the magazine`s special October/November issue highlighting an elite group of black hospitality and tourism managers.

“I am honored to be named to this prestigious list of African-American managers,” Richards said. “This personal distinction is a tribute to the reputable marketing efforts that the Department of Tourism has achieved in the increasingly competitive tourism environment. I would like to thank my staff and all those who have assisted me in achieving this milestone.”


The Department of Tourism has received several awards this year for its strategic marketing efforts from highly regarded organisations, including the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Foundation, the ATME ATLAS Travel Marketing Awards and the Virginia Public Relations Society of America. St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas have been recognized with numerous accolades and endorsements from media outlets, including the Travel Channel, Modern Bride, National Geographic Traveler, Yahoo Travel, Caribbean Travel & Life, Islands Weddings and Honeymoons, Travel Holiday, Successful Meetings, Rodale`s Scuba Diving, Frommer`s Budget Travel and Delicious Living Magazine.
