American Eagle Buy on Board

FORT WORTH, Texas - Beginning today, Sept. 3, American Eagle passengers traveling from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will have the option of purchasing a meal or snack while in-flight. American Eagle is testing the concept of “buy on board,” on flights between the two cities and in other select markets.

Inflight Café - Buy on Board meal selections will vary by time of day but can include a breakfast of coffee crumb cake served with fresh fruit salad and yogurt, a dinner salad of fresh greens topped with roasted chicken, goat cheese, strawberries and walnuts, or a snack box complete with a roasted turkey and cheese sandwich, potato chips, raisins and cookies.

All meals are served with bottled water. Breakfast selections will be priced at $7, lunch and dinner selections at $10, and snack selections at $5. Full meal descriptions and photos can be found on AA.com under American Eagle Dining.

“We’re pleased to be the first regional carrier to test this product,” said Tom Bacon, senior vice president-Marketing and Planning. “This is a great opportunity to offer our customers a service they have asked for without increasing our costs.”

LSG Sky Chefs is coordinating the program and has partnered with several vendors, including D’Amico & Sons and Einstein Bros.
