World’s first “fashion hotel” set for Dubai

A new chain of five star Fashion Hotels, designed by Fashion TV, are set to open in key locations around the world, with the first property planned for Dubai.

Fashion TV, a French based fashion television broadcaster, has signed an agreement with the UAE’s Al Habtoor Group to build the five-star hotel, according to reports, although no dates have yet been released.

The hotel, to be located in the heart of Dubai and called F Hotel, will be owned and operated by the Al Habtoor Group, according to a statement

It will be 30 storeys high and the exterior will display a projection using a 100 metre LED screen, broadcasting the latest Fashion TV highlights, around the clock.

200 rooms will be equipped with the latest lighting and audio-video technologies and will make extensive use of the latest 3D equipment.

Guests will also have access to Fashion TV’s 30 channels, as well as the biggest Fashion DVD library in the world, offering 50,000 DVDs on the history of fashion.

The hotel will also include restaurants, bars, lounges, nightclubs, spas and cinemas, as well as fashion-themed rooms.

“Fashion TV has made the concept designs, but not the detailed design. This will take some time. We also need to agree with Fashion TV management pertaining to location,” Mohammed Al Habtoor, vice-chairman of Al Habtoor Group, told Emirates 24/7.

“The value of project has not been finalised and is under study. Fashion TV will not be investing in this project… we will be investing the money 100 per cent.”

According to the Fashion TV, F Hotels are specifically designed to target the fashion community, trend setting urban professionals, and all sophisticated business and leisure travelers.

F Hotels are also intended to be an ideal choice for large-scale fashion industry events and promotional activities, fashion shows, VIP parties, photo and movie shoots, star interviews, and other social engagements, the company said.

F Hotel will be hoping to emulate the success of the world’s first Armani Hotel in Dubai last year. The hotel, which has redefined hospitality with its minimal elegance, has become an instant icon in the emirate. In May it played host to the World Travel Awards 2011 Middle East Ceremony.
