Virgin Galactic’s Will Whitehorn to address Business Travel & Meetings Show
Will Whitehorn, President of space travel pioneer Virgin Galactic , will make a very special appearance at the Business Travel & Meetings Show on Wednesday 10 February.
His session – to take place at 1300-1345 on Centre Stage – is entitled The Final Frontier of Business Travel. F or those who think taking a business trip into space is but a dream, the Virgin Galactic website manages to make it sound very much like a reality:
“...a brief moment of quiet before a wave of unimaginable but controlled power surges through the craft. You are instantly pinned back into your seat, overwhelmed but enthralled by the howl of the rocket motor and the eye- watering acceleration which, as you watch the read-out, has you travelling in a matter of seconds, at almost 2500mph, over three times the speed of sound.”
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Will Whitehorn to BTMS 2010,” said event director David Chapple. “If a quick preview of his presentation and the Virgin Galactic website is anything to go by, he’ll have us all reaching for our wallets to find the $20,000 deposit for a flight in space!”
The Business Travel & Meetings Show will be opened by Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Transport Norman Baker MP with a special opening address on Centre Stage on Tuesday 9 February. His presentation will outline the Liberal Democrat’s vision for transport, which comprises two main goals: to improve conditions for all passengers and to reduce carbon emissions from the sector.
