Stansted incident sees planes diverted

All flights are being diverted from Stansted Airport after an earlier incident saw landing equipment at the location damaged.

Air accident investigators are at the scene investigating an “incident” earlier in which part of the instrument landing system was damaged by an inbound flight.

The plane involved was a Gulfstream G550 jet, which landed safely.

Due to the damage, and because of fog and poor visibility, no planes are being allowed to land at the airport.

An airport spokesman requested passengers check with airlines.
