Jones takes up UK sales leadership role with Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic has confirmed Emma Jones will be joining the airline as vice president UK sales in August. 

In her new role at Virgin Atlantic, Jones will report to Joe Thompson senior vice president, global sales and distribution and will be responsible for the airline’s UK sales and revenue performance, with direct accountability for all UK corporate and agency sales, working closely with our joint venture partner Delta Air Lines.

Commenting on the new appointment, Thompson said: “I’m delighted to welcome Emma to this very important role.

“Emma brings 20 years of highly-relevant travel experience to the team and has great insights into the complex dynamics of airline sales.

“Emma will play a critical part in delivering our revenue growth ambitions, as we continue to leverage the customer benefits of our joint venture with Delta and prepare to launch new transatlantic services from Manchester.”

Emma joins Virgin Atlantic from EY where she was responsible for managing over £500 million in annual travel spend within the EMEIA region and led the delivery of several major initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the travel management function.

Prior to EY she spent time at British Airways, travel management company HRG, GSK and Credit Suisse.
