ICTP welcomes The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board

The International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) is pleased to announce newest member The British Virgin Islands (BVI) Tourist Board & Film Commission.

“The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is elated to become one of the newest members of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners. We have been making significant strides to achieve green growth by working towards transforming the British Virgin Islands into a sustainable tourism destination. We believe that with the assistance and resources of the ICTP we can become the leading sustainable destination within our region. Our goal is to ensure that guests find a balance with enjoying the BVI experience while protecting the environment,” said Sasha Flax, Environmental Product Officer.

The British Virgin Islands are known for its natural beauty, friendly people, and recreational activities. Each island has its own unique characteristics and legends, and is ready to reveal nature’s little secrets to its visitors.

“We are delighted that yet another important island nation is committing to work with us to advance the cause of green growth and quality. In some respects, islands are at a very high risk level as climate change blights and sea levels rise. They also have special marine conservation characteristics and needs. We are looking forward to contributing to a more sustainable ‘travelism’ and community future for BVI,” said Geoffrey Lipman, President of ICTP.

ICTP Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz said: “The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board will be a valuable asset to our coalition. The aim of BVI to harmonize its tourism activities with the sustainability of the islands is commendable and one that we whole-heartedly support.”
