Air New Zealand’s “Romance Class” takes off in China

The “Romance Class” campaign, which was launched last month, highlights New Zealand as an idyllic destination for couples and follows on from the airline’s recent partnership with popular Chinese reality dating show “You are the one” and the Queenstown wedding of actress Yao Chen last year.
The safety video, made purely for online, stars influential Chinese social media personalities Molly Wang and Solo Zhuang who together have more than half a million fans on Weibo, China’s leading social media website.

Air New Zealand Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Acting Chief Sales Officer Norm Thompson says many couples in the China market budget to spend large when it comes to romantic getaways.

“China is a market full of romantics who meticulously plan and save for destination weddings and honeymoons in awe-inspiring surroundings like those in New Zealand. It’s a premium segment and one we are working hard to tap into.”

In addition to the safety video, the airline is offering special fares, value added ground offers and an exclusive romance themed in-flight amenity kit for couples.

The new safety video with English subtitles can be viewed exclusively online here at Air New Zealand’s YouTube channel.
