Abercrombie & Kent has announced the appointment of Kerry Golds as managing director of Abercrombie & Kent UK.
Golds will be responsible for leading A&K’s tour operating division in the UK, with a remit to build on the strong growth over the last two years and leverage A&K’s 50 overseas destination management offices looking after guests on all seven continents.
She will be joining A&K on February 18th 2013 and will report to Ian Coghlan, chief executive of Abercrombie & Kent Travel.
Golds has extensive senior level experience in the travel industry.
Previously she was managing director at luxury tour operator Western & Oriental where she led the restructuring which separated the travel company from its parent.
Before joining Western & Oriental, she spent 20 years at Travel 2, the long-haul tour operator and leading airline consolidator, where she was a main board member and tour operations director, when the business was successfully sold to Cendant.
Coghlan said “We have exciting plans for A&K in the UK and I am truly delighted that Kerry is joining and will be bringing her extensive luxury travel experience to spearhead this development.”
