Flybe’s travel partners help put stranded passengers mind at rest

Flybe’s travel partners are offering the following reassurances to those concerned about the possible ramifications to their travel budgets due to becoming stranded as a result of the closure of UK air space this week from services booked at through their stand-alone micro sites:


  * Travel Insurance

For passengers who have booked travel insurance with Chartis Insurance via Flybe

Leisure travel policies


No cover is in place for this event, since it is not a named peril on leisure travel policies. Chartis Insurance are, in this case, on an ex-gratia basis agreeing to settle claims for any additional accommodation and travel expenses incurred not refundable from any other source, in most cases the airline. The normal claims process must be followed, with relevant supporting evidence to be produced.

In both cases, normal policy limits will continue to apply.

  * Car hire

For passengers who have booked car hire with Avis via Flybe

Avis will offer full refunds for any pre-paid bookings and will not charge any no-show fees or cancellation fees for any pay-later bookings if passengers will not be able to collect their booked car due to their flight having been cancelled; should passengers require to modify their reservation they will be able to do so free of charge providing that there shall be availability.

For passengers who have booked hotels with HRS via Flybe

Passengers can cancel their hotel online utilizing their booking confirmation code found on the booking confirmation or passengers can contact HRS customer service centre on either 0870 2430003 or +44 870 2430003 if calling outside the UK, which is available Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day

  * Car Parking

For passengers who have pre-booked car parking with Holiday Extras via Flybe

Holiday Extras cancellation, refund and amendment policy
Amendments: Excluding Advance, Supersaver, Non-Flexible, Leisure Special and past date products, passengers may make amendments free of charge.
Cancellations: Holiday Extras has suspended its normal cancellation charges of £9.50 for parking and £15 for hotels until further notice.


The following car parks have also waived cancellation fees for those customers canceling on the day of travel. All other car parks will charge as per our standard terms and conditions. Any customer delayed in returning to their car will be charged at the car parks discretion.
