Flybe honours its two millionth passenger out of Leeds Bradford International

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and the UK’s number one domestic carrier, will today honour its 2,000,000th passenger at Leeds Bradford International Airport with a special presentation to Wakefield businessman, Mike Roberts, when he arrives on his day return flight from London Gatwick, one of Flybe’s five routes to and from the Yorkshire airport.

To celebrate this historic milestone, Mr Roberts will be presented with a commemorative Flybe magnum of Champagne by airport Commercial Director, Tony Hallwood, together with a six month Premier Lounge pass at both Leeds Bradford and Flybe’s dedicated Executive Lounge at London Gatwick.

Mr Roberts is also one of the first passengers to take advantage of Flybe’s new 1035 service from Leeds Bradford to London Gatwick that allows business travellers in particular an additional opportunity to make convenient day return travel between the two key regions.  This mid-morning service, introduced to further boost business travel to and from the South East, provides an addition to the airline’s already popular 0700 flight.

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, said: “We are delighted to congratulate Mr Roberts on being the two millionth Flybe passenger to use one of our 134 flights a week serving Leeds Bradford.

“The ongoing success and popularity of our Leeds Bradford routes reflect Flybe’s commitment to listening and responding to the needs of our passengers and anticipating the needs of the travelling public to adapt and enhance services in response to what they actually want.”

Mike Roberts, MD of print management company, PMG, commented: “I’m delighted to be passenger two million! I use Leeds Bradford airport on a regular basis. Without the option of flying to see both my UK and European customers my company would lose too many hours stuck on the road. Using Flybe means that I can work in transit and get to my final destination much fresher and faster. That’s so important when your business is all about being effective and the bottom line.”

Adds Tony Hallwood, Commercial Director of LBIA: “Flybe’s vital airlinks from LBIA to Aberdeen, Southampton, Belfast City, Exeter and London Gatwick provide a valuable service for both our leisure and business passengers.  It also offers an opportunity for Yorkshire and the Humber to attract further inward investment and create additional links for our region’s business network, making it easier for successful companies like PMG to develop and grow.”
