East Midlands Trains has announced that it will be sponsoring Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival for the second year running, with a special ‘First Class’ performance taking place at the train station for the first time ever.
To mark the 21st anniversary of the annual festival, a unique show will take place in Leicester station’s First Class Lounge on 7th February with comedians George Ryegold, Jarlath Regan, Mike Newall and Lloyd Griffin. Only 21 seats are available for this special performance and tickets are selling out fast so early booking is recommended. Tickets can be booked at www.comedy-festival.co.uk or 0116 242 3595.
As part of the festival, a photography exhibition will be on display at the front of the station and passengers may recognise a range of station announcements made by famous comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
Peter Koukoularides, Account Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re proud to be sponsoring Dave’s famous Leicester Comedy Festival for the second year running.
“This year will see an extra-special event taking place in our First Class Lounge to mark the 21st anniversary of the festival and our passengers will also be treated to some special station announcements, thanks to famous comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
“This is a great event taking place across one of our key cities and we look forward to welcoming festival goers onto our train services and to Leicester station.”
Geoff Rowe, Festival founder & Director, said “The support we receive from East Midlands Trains is incredibly valuable and we’re delighted to be working with the team again. The festival attracts over 80,000 people to more than 600 events across the 17 days and many of them arrive in the city by train. It’s great that we can host events at the station, including the photographic exhibition of comedians who have performed over the past 21 years.”
