InterContinental Hotels Group Media Statement

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), owner of the Holiday Inn(R) brand,
was recently made aware of the situation at the Holiday Inn
Missoula-Parkside property. As with all independently owned and operated
hotels, IHG does not dictate local hotel operating policy other than to
require that all hotels licensed to operate as a Holiday Inn hotel comply
with all federal, state and local laws including situations regarding
abandoned property.

According to the Montana state law, any abandoned property transfers to
the state of Montana after a specific period of time. In this case, the
money remains unclaimed and the hotel to date has been unable to locate
the rightful owner. Hotel management has informed IHG that it has decided
to turn over the abandoned property to state officials.

InterContinental Hotels Group, owner of the Holiday Inn(R) brand, wants to
recognize this guest for turning over the property to the Holiday Inn
Missoula-Parkside and thus, the company is making a donation to the
Adirondack Community College Scholarship Fund for $3,200 in the guest`s
mother`s name as she requested.
