Francisco Martin Named As New Sol Meliá Executive Vice President For Human Resources Europe

The Spanish hotel management company Sol Meliá has appointed Francisco Mart’n as Executive Vice President for Human Resources Europe. The 38 year old Mr. Mart’n is a graduate in Chemistry from the Complutense University in Madrid and has successfully completed numerous postgraduate courses in Management, Finance and Human Resources Management.


Francisco Mart’n has extensive business experience, starting out in Sales and Operations and later moving on to Human Resources Management.


For the last 14 years he has worked for the North American company Dow Chemical, the leading chemicals company in the world, where he became Director of Human Resources for European Manufacturing and later Director of Human Resources Eastern Europe in Dow Jones’ Swiss Headquarters.


The appointment of Mr. Mart’n is a further sign of one of Sol Meliá‘s general strategies which aims to optimise hotel management, quality and profitability through providing the most appropriate training and career development for employees.


According to Mr. Mart’n, his main objective will be to “contribute to the globalisation of Company organisation and systems through the implementation of modern human resource management techniques.”
