World-Class Holiday Gift Ideas

Simplify gift giving this year when you give the gift of travel. American
Airlines offers four great ways to give, with the shareAAmiles(R),
giftAAmiles(SM), buyAAmiles(R), and American Airlines Gift Certificate
programs. Whether miles or gift certificates, all transactions are done
online, so you can avoid the last-minute rush to the mall.

AAdvantage(R) Travel Awards Program members can easily give miles to
friends and family members through the giftAAmiles and shareAAmiles
programs.

For a limited time, members may receive up to 25,000 AAdvantage miles per
account each calendar year using the giftAAmiles program. Members may also
purchase up to 25,000 miles per calendar year for themselves through the
buyAAmiles program. AAdvantage miles are sold at the rate of 2.75 cents
per mile, plus applicable taxes and fees for purchases up to 5,000 miles,
and 2.5 cents plus applicable taxes and fees for purchases between 6,000
and 25,000 miles. Purchases can be made in 1,000-mile increments. Each
transaction will incur a $25 processing fee. This offer is available to
AAdvantage members worldwide, through Jan. 31, 2004. AAdvantage miles
purchased through the giftAAmiles and buyAAmiles programs will be posted
within 72 hours.
The shareAAmiles program allows the transfer of miles from one member`s
account to another`s. Members can share up to 60,000 miles per calendar
year from their account and members can receive up to 15,000 miles per
calendar year. These miles are in addition to the miles a member can
receive through the giftAAmiles program. The fee to transfer miles using
the shareAAmiles program depends on the number of miles transferred.

A transfer of 1,000 to 5,000 miles is $50; 6,000-11,000 miles is $100; and
11,000-15,000 miles is $150. Miles are credited to the recipient`s
accounts within seven days. Additionally, a $25 transaction fee applies to
up to three transactions processed at the same time. This program is valid
through Jan. 31, 2004.
