British Airways Offers Flexibility

British Airways has introduced a new short term policy to allow customers to change their ticket reservation free of charge on long haul economy tickets, including restricted tickets that currently do not allow changes.
All new long haul flight bookings, on restricted tickets in economy and premium economy cabins, made between 14 February and 17 March 2003 may be changed anytime up to 31 May 2003, for travel until the end of December 2003. Customers can choose to change their destination, dates or class of travel.

Tiffany Hall, British Airways head of UK sales and marketing said: “There is a degree of uncertainty in the marketplace which makes it difficult for people to decide when and where to travel. Our new short term policy offers our customers the flexibility and reassurance needed at this time.

“Customers can book their flights now with the peace of mind that if they decide to travel at a later date or change destination, they can do so, even if they have a cheaper restricted ticket.”

The offer applies to bookings to all long haul destinations but when customers make a change, they can select any destination in the British Airways network including domestic and European routes.

á The offer applies to all longhaul World Traveller and World Traveller Plus bookings purchased by 17 March and ticketed by 24 March 2003.
á All bookings made with British Airways telephone sales, British Airways ticket desks, British Airways Travel Shops, any local travel agent or online at ba.com are applicable.
á Changes must be made at least 72 hours prior to departure.
á Any changes to the booking must be made at the location of the original booking except for online bookings which should be made with British Airways telephone sales on 0845 77 333 77. Changes can be made until 31 May 2003.
á One free change of reservation is allowed per booking.
á If a customer decides to cancel their flights before making a new choice they may do so. Their booking will be on hold until they rebook at a later date using their original ticket or e-ticket receipt, before 31 May 2003.
á British Airways codeshare partners and franchisees are not included in the offer. Flights on Qantas are included.
á Tickets remain non-refundable. Cancellations and full refunds are not allowed.
