Spirit Airlines Releases Traffic Results For October 2001

Spirit Airlines today reported October 2001 Traffic. Year-to-date, Spirit has produced growth in all traffic figures. Spirit’s load factor is up 2.1 percent, passengers carried is up 24 percent, revenue passenger miles is up nearly 29 percent and available seat miles have increased more than 26 percent.

For the month of October 2001; load factor was 60.7 percent and passengers carried were 145,893 for the month. Revenue Passenger Miles decreased 27.5 percent for the month, but the airline remains up in this category by 28.8 percent for the year. Available Seat Miles were down 19.3 percent for the month over the same time last year, but are up 26.1 percent for the year to date.


“We remain hopeful that the holidays will spur families and friends to reunite and return to air travel,” said Ned Homfeld chairman and founder of Spirit Airlines. “We have increased our schedule in November and anticipate improved traffic as we embark upon the holiday season. We look forward to a true season of togetherness and are pleased that Spirit will be able to bring families and friends together during the upcoming holidays,” said Homfeld.
