More Than 15 Million Passengers Carried In 1999 For China Southern Airlines

China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People`s Republic of China carried 15.11 million passengers in 1999 Á? an increase of 50,000 passengers over 1998.

The 1999 passenger totals continue China Southern Airlines` dominance as China`s leading carrier with more than 25% of the domestic passenger air travel market.


China Southern Airlines` International transpacific service between Guangzhou and Los Angeles (round trip) increased 16% over 1998 - from 49% to 65%.

“The total company commitment of our more than 15,000 employees and the entire senior management team is focused on providing safe, reliable and on-time service to our valued passengers,” said President Yan Zhi Qin.
Yan lauded the marketing, promotional and Sky Pearl Club frequent flyer club departments and staff at the airline`s world headquarters based at Baiyun International Airport. “We have made a considerable effort in `getting the word out` both domestically within China and internationally on the service benefits and our superb in-flight service of our new Boeing and Airbus aircraft,” said Yan, adding, “our sales team has done a marvelous job in communicating the service benefits to the frequent corporate and leisure customer here in China, regionally in Southeast Asia and internationally in the USA and Europe.”
