Continental Airlines Reports The Highest November Load Factor In Company History

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAI.B and CAI.A) today reported a systemwide load factor of 69.7 percent in November, the highest November load factor in Continental`s history and 1.4 points above the previous record set last November.

In November 1998, Continental flew 4.2 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 6.1 billion available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 9.0 percent and a capacity increase of 6.8 percent versus November 1997. International traffic was 1.4 billion RPMs, up 10.9 percent from November 1997 and international capacity was 2.0 billion ASMs, up 5.4 percent from last year.


Continental Express, Continental`s wholly owned regional subsidiary, also reported its highest November load factor of 59.1 percent, up 2.6 points from last year, based on 138.4 million RPMs and 234.2 million ASMs. Continental Express November traffic was up 35.1 percent and November capacity was up 29.0 percent from last year.
