Budapest airport traffic up in May

Budapest Airport handled 744,185 passengers in May, a 5.5% or 38,995 passenger
increase on the same month in 2005. For the 12 months to May 2006, total
passenger traffic reached 8.277 million a 15.7% rise over the same period last
year.

The number of transfer passengers grew by 14.7% in May 2006, compared with May
2005, up from 116,880 to 134,038 passengers. This represents a 27.0% increase
year-on-year, to 1.527 million or 18.4% of all passengers.

The number of passengers travelling by no-frills airlines reached 199,242, a
5.2% reduction on May 2005. But in the year ending May 2006, Budapest handled
more than 2.278 million low-cost passengers, a 35.2% increase on the same 12
months ending in May 2005.

The number of air transport movements in May 2006 increased by 2.1%, to 11,515
movements, compared with the same period last year. In the 12 months to May
2006, Budapest handled 126,925 air transport movements, a rise of 4.4% on the
previous 12-month period.

Cargo traffic continued to grow in May. Budapest Airport handled more than
6,746 tonnes of cargo, a 12.1% rise on the same period last year. During the
past 12 months, cargo traffic reached 78,315 tonnes, a 0.8% increase compared
with the same period in 2005.
