Spearheaded by the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), Counterpart International and individual island destinations, the Caribbean region has had a highly visible presence at both FITUR and TOURCOM, two parallel tourism events currently underway in Madrid, the Spanish capital. FITUR, a major travel exposition, and TOURCOM, the first world conference on tourism communications staged by the World Tourism Organisation, have both generated tremendous interest among tourism partners who welcome the bright outlook for international tourism in 2004.
