Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, appointed Alison Broadhead as chief commercial officer.

She is responsible for all sales, marketing and revenue activities across the company’s 22 hotels and other related businesses.

Based in Dubai and reporting to chief operating officer Nicholas Clayton, Broadhead is tasked with driving Jumeirah’s commercial strategy, building profitable growth, increasing brand awareness and value and leading an international sales and marketing team.

She takes on responsibility for sales, marketing, revenue management and communications.

Additional responsibilities include the company’s loyalty programme Sirius, its award-winning website and social media platforms, the management of the now world famous brand’s expansion into new markets and its strategic partnerships across the globe.

A British national born in Aberdeen Scotland, Alison Broadhead has over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, of which 15 were spent in the Asia Pacific region.

Before joining Jumeirah, she had been working at Queenstown Resort College in New Zealand and prior to this at Marriott International.

While at Marriott, Alison held a number of senior international positions including director of international business management/global finance services in Washington DC, area general manager in Australia/New Zealand, general manager Singapore Marriott and regional director of sales and marketing Asia Pacific.

Reflecting on her first few months in the role Broadhead said: “Jumeirah is a world class brand.

“Whether you look at the company’s performance in its home base of Dubai, its expanded portfolio in Europe or emerging presence in Asia, Jumeirah relentlessly delivers on its Stay Different brand promise.

“I am delighted to have joined the company as it is poised for a second wave of expansion, this time in Asia and the Middle East, and to be part of its ongoing success.

“The intention of our commercial team is to continuously improve the areas of our businesses that deliver the greatest value and return on investment, to prioritise strategies that help our people grow themselves and the business and, above all, harness the credibility of the Jumeirah brand by delivering excellence in commercial services to all our stakeholders.”
