British Airways opens Thai holiday hotspots with codeshare deal

From June 11th, British Airways’ customers will be able to fly to the popular Thai holiday hotspots of Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai thanks to a new agreement between the airline and Bangkok Airways.

The codeshare arrangement between the two airlines means that British Airways’ customers will be able to book flights, via Bangkok, to these tourist destinations in one seamless transaction on ba.com.

There will also be a codeshare service with Bangkok Airways from Singapore to Koh Samui.

British Airways flies daily to Bangkok and twice daily to Singapore.

The Bangkok service will be moving from Heathrow Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 from October.

Bangkok Airways was originally founded as an air taxi service in the 1960s and it has now grown to serve a network of 20 destinations with a fleet of 22 aircraft.

Steve Ronald, British Airways’ head of alliances, said:  “The beautiful beaches of Thailand will be more accessible to European tourists now that we have teamed up with Bangkok Airways.
