2010 PhoCusWright Conference Theme Announced

I am pleased to announce the theme for the 2010 PhoCusWright Conference to be held November 16-18 in Phoenix, Arizona United States.

“Chaos Calls—Navigating the New” examines the unique forces that are collectively transforming travel, tourism and hospitality. As with prior PhoCusWright themes that are relied upon as industry bellwethers, this year’s event challenges everyone to articulate what a successful strategy looks like in 2010 and beyond. The theme explores the five tenets that all travel companies—large and small, startup and established, supplier and intermediary, leisure and corporate, traditional and technical—are compelled to confront. I introduced this theme a few weeks ago in Berlin; check out the video and read more about each tenet.

Five Tenets of Chaos Calls—Navigating the New

  1. Disparate Devices and Channels
  2. Strains on Search
  3. Tapping New Travelers
  4. See Me, Hear Me, Touch Me
  5. Significant Surprise

Any one of these five tenets is daunting enough. However, they are unfolding simultaneously with exponential impact on the global travel landscape.

Shaken and stirred into action by the confounding events of the past 18 months, travel executives are ready to rebound. However, many of the organizations, strategies and models they have battled to preserve are now oddly out of synch with the new order.

Read on to explore how these five tenets are challenging and motivating industry leaders to exploit the chaos.

Registration is now open for The Travel Industry Event of the Year. Please join us at the 2010 PhoCusWright Conference (November 16-18 in Phoenix, Arizona United States) where we will examine the unique forces that are collectively transforming travel, tourism and hospitality.

Chaos calls. Escape is not an option.
