Vail Resorts today announced target winter opening day plans for the 2023/24 ski and ride season for its resorts across the Rocky Mountains and the West.

Jet2.com is giving skiers and snowboarders the chance to grab a piste of the action in the French, Swiss, Austrian and Italian Alps nice and early, after putting its Ski programme on sale from across ten of its UK bases earlier than ever before for Winter 24/25.

With snow in short supply this winter, skiers can be sure of finding plenty of the fresh powder in Finland to enjoy the best of the ski season. From Lapland to Lakeland, Finland’s ski snowbound season is long and usually lasts from November all the way through to April. Be they beginners or advanced, skiers of all levels will find the perfect slope on Finland’s fells and long hills, while thrill seekers can head off-piste to explore the Finnish winter wilderness.

Vail Mountain received over 18” of natural snowfall during this week’s winter storm, allowing the resort to open the Legendary Back Bowls on the resort’s 60th birthday.

This December scheduled departures from the UK are projected to hit 83% of December 2019 levels, as the industry continues to see strong winter demand. Flights from UK airports are also up 35% compared to December 2021, with over 65,000 planned departures during this month.
