Chuck Baraw, President of Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Weiss to the position of Executive Chef. Most recently Weiss had orchestrated the dramatic change in the menu at Century, the Cleveland Ritz-Carlton`s restaurant, introducing sushi bars, raw bars, innovative cuisine and presentations.

The July/August issue of American Fitness, the nationwide magazine devoted to health and rejuvenation, features the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa in its Wellness & Life section. The article, Soothing Stones, refers to LaStone Therapy, a stone and massage treatment offered first in Vermont at the Stoweflake Spa & Sports Club. LaStone Therapy combines Swedish massage with the age-old healing practice of placing hot and cold stones in strategic places to open up energy channels and facilitate self-healing and body-mind awareness.

In the heart of the Ski Capital of the East, the Stoweflake Resort & Conference Center celebrates the Grand Opening of the newly constructed East Wing and Spa & Sports Club with a spectacular celebration to take place on Friday June 12, 1998, 3:00-7:00 p.m. (rain or shine). The new East Wing houses 40 luxury guest rooms and suites, all new Spa & Sports Club, Copley Hospital Sports Medicine Center, and significantly expanded conference/meeting facilities. This new wing is dedicated to Beatrice and Stuart Baraw, the Stoweflake`s founders.
