Smith named senior captain of upcoming Azamara Pursuit
Azamara Club Cruises has announced the three officers of its new ship, Azamara Pursuit, which will join the fleet in August 2018. Senior captain Carl Smith and cruise director Tony Markey, both from the UK, will join hotel director Ryszard Gusmann from Poland to lead a crew of around 400.
Azamara Club Cruises purchases Adonia from P&O Cruises
Azamara Club Cruises has entered into an agreement to purchase a sister ship to Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest from P&O Cruises. Delivery is expected to take place in March 2018.

The newest addition to the company is Jennifer Wright who joins as business development manager and will be committed to growing Azamara UK’s MICE and charter business, brand partnerships, and managing a selection of boutique and niche trade partners.
Azamara Journey completes dry-dock renevations
Departing Freeport, Bahamas for Miami, Azamara Journey has been outfitted with new venues, public spaces and technologies to bring fresh services and amenities to guests. This vessel is the first of Azamara Club Cruises’ two ships to undergo planned upgrades. “There is no area on the ship that has not been touched,” said Larry Pimentel, president of Azamara Club Cruises.
Azamara Club Cruises launches virtual reality on-board experience
Azamara Club Cruises has launched a new app that showcases a series of 360-degree virtual reality experiences. The video series, known as Azamara 3di, uses virtual reality technology to allow guests to experience a cruise virtually. From touring the on-board offerings of an Azamara ship, zip lining through a Costa Rican rainforest, taking a moonlit carriage ride in Cartagena, Colombia or sailing through the Panama Canal, the new Azamara App is designed to give guests a true flavour of what the line offers.

Azamara Quest visits the Arctic Circle globe
Earlier this week, guests on Azamara Quest’s current Norwegian Fjords and The North Cape voyage had the opportunity to experience how unique an Azamara Club Cruises voyage can be. Azamara Quest’s Captain Stig took advantage of the day at sea to provide guests with the opportunity to see the Arctic Circle Globe on Vikingen Island in Norway, which marks a crossing into the Arctic Ocean.
