Rocco Forte Hotels appoints GM for The Balmoral in Edinburgh

Mr Arnold, who will start in August, takes over from Ivan Artolli who was recently promoted to director of operations for the group’s properties in the UK, Belgium and Eastern Europe.

With more than 14 years in the luxury hospitality industry, Mr Arnold brings with him a wealth of experience. He joins The Balmoral from The Jefferson Hotel in Washington DC, where as managing director, he oversaw an extensive renovation of the property.

Prior to taking up his post in Washington, Arnold, who hails from Strasbourg in France, was hotel manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Previously, he held several posts at Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts’ in England, Greece, Belgium, Spain and the USA.

On appointing his successor in Edinburgh, Ivan Artolli comments: “In Franck, we have a seasoned hotelier who brings with him a blend of luxury hospitality expertise and operational experience. I am confident that under his guidance, The Balmoral will continue to prosper as Edinburgh’s leading five-star hotel. ”

In his new role, Franck Arnold will oversee all aspects of the iconic Edinburgh hotel. He will be responsible for its day to day operations; the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant number one; Hadrian’s and Palm Court; The Bollinger Bar and its meetings & events’ facilities.

Fluent in English, Spanish and French, Arnold graduated from the Hotel School of Strasbourg and holds a master’s degree from I.M.H.I. Cornell Essec in Paris and an MBA from Henley Management College in the UK.
