One&Only Le Saint Géran to host a chocolate-filled, Easter extravaganza

One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius will become a decadent haven for chocoholics over the Easter holidays. From 21 – 26 April, the beautiful beachside resort will be spoiling guests with an array of chocolate-themed activities from cookery courses and yoga, to an Easter egg hunt for the whole family.

Throughout the Easter holidays, guests can knock back “choctails” by the pool or enjoy chocolate pizzas on the beach as part of a special picnic box created by the resort’s restaurant, Spoon Des Iles headed by three Michelin starred chef, Alain Ducasse.

A real treat for the epicurean aficionado, Harlan Goldstein, ‘chef to the rich and famous’ and one of Hong Kong’s most famous culinary celebrities, will be hosting a ladies cookery class in the One&Only Le Saint Géran gardens based on recipes from his new cookery book.

On Easter Sunday, a champagne breakfast buffet will be served followed by an Easter egg hunt with special prizes awarded, while in the evening guests can enjoy Chef Sebastien Ehret’s Easter gala buffet featuring a spectacular and lavish chocolate display. After dinner, an Easter show will take place on the dance floor before guests can dance the night away to the sounds of Famous 9 – a band which has performed with many different artists including Chris de Burgh, Whitney Houston and Boy George. On Easter Monday there will be a special lunch buffet with live jazz – the perfect end to a relaxing and indulgent Easter break.

Guests can also look forward to a chocolate-themed cookery class at Spoon des Iles, as well as a chocolate-themed wine dinner. One of the resort’s other stellar restaurants Rasoi, will host an Easter Monday celebrity chef gala dinner with Chef Harlan Goldstein and a specially created Easter menu.

The chocolate-fuelled experience continues in the spa where guests are offered post treatment chocolate tea while the more adventurous guest can enjoy Hatha yoga and a dark chocolate treat where the natural high from yoga combined with the endorphin high of eating raw chocolate gives devotees a greater state of relaxation and happiness. Dark chocolate is also rich in anti-oxidants and, followed by a refreshing green tea, should leave guests feeling healthy and rejuvenated.

For the dedicated chocoholic, there will also be a white chocolate pedicure by Bastien Gonzalez on offer throughout the Easter period. This 60-minute specialist pedicure involves a warm chocolate paraffin wax treatment enriched with vitamin E and Buriti oil to improve the skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Family activities include Easter egg decoration classes, sessions on how to become a DJ and various water sports taking place in the resort’s lagoon. These are followed by buffets on the beach under a starlit sky.

Located on its own peninsula on the north-eastern coast of Mauritius, One&Only Le Saint Géran comprises 162 stunning suites and one luxurious villa, with all rooms facing out privately towards the Indian Ocean. Under the calm sway of thousands of coconut palms, immaculate gardens run down to the edge of the coral-sand beach, which seamlessly wraps the peninsula for over a mile. The resort also boasts three gourmet restaurants, two with Michelin star chefs.
