Four Seasons Bali, bring home the most beautiful Balinese tan

Four Seasons Bali, bring home the most beautiful Balinese tan

The tropical Balinese sun is tempting for sun worshippers, but it also requires special precautions for skincare. That’s why the two Four Seasons Resorts in Bali provide poolside spa rituals designed to protect and revitalise skin – both before and after sun bathing. It’s the smartest way to ensure a safe and even tan, and achieve a glowing, radiant complexion.

Poolside spa treatments also provide an opportunity to multi-task and maximise one’s stay: enjoying the results of truly beneficial spa treatments, without compromising precious time outdoors in paradise. The treatments unfold in shaded areas beside the pool at Sayan, or beside the pool or beach at Jimbaran Bay.

Offered by expert Four Seasons spa therapists, these signature poolside treatments are designed to prepare the skin prior to sun exposure, and afterwards, to help ease dryness and prolong a beautiful Balinese tan.

Before-Sun Ritual

Strategically planning a suncare treatment before sun exposure will promote natural, even tanning, while also helping skin strengthen its natural defence mechanisms. The 45-minute Before-Sun Ritual begins with a skin brushing designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, allowing for even tanning, while leaving skin feeling soft and silky. This is followed by a relaxing back massage to melt away tension. The treatment concludes with a full-body application of SPF 15 or 30 coconut oil sunscreen.

Used extensively in traditional Balinese medicine, coconut oil possesses healing properties far beyond that of any other oil.

After-Sun Ritual

After the drying effects of the sun, water, sand and wind, it’s important to cool and hydrate the skin. The 75-minute After-Sun Ritual is designed to reduce the effects of sunburn, calm the heat and regenerate dehydrated skin. The experience begins with a comforting back massage. The sand-buffed soles of the feet will then be re-energised with a pleasing massage, leaving them supple and smooth. The treatment finishes with a moisturising full-body application of locally-produced Balinese aloe vera and lavender oil . Both of these ingredients are to known to soothe, speed healing, and prevent scarring and infections. At the end of a day in the sun, skin will look luminous and healthy.

Other poolside treatments include:

Universal Bliss, incorporating a neck, shoulder and scalp massage for 30 minute
Tropical Toes, a 30-minute foot buff, massage, nail file and polish
Poolside Perfection, a 30-minute hand scrub, massage, nail file and polish
Shorter versions of the Before- and After-Sun Rituals are also available.
These luxurious poolside spa offerings are guaranteed to make a splash with even the most discerning of sun worshippers, allowing guests to return home from a Bali getaway looking sun-kissed and feeling relaxed and transformed.
