As a part of the program of fleet renewal and expansion, Ukraine International Airlines received the fifth out of nine Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft that the carrier plans to acquire in 2016. Leased from SMBC, the Irish leaser, the newly-received Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-PSS registration number.
Ukraine International Airlines has become the latest carrier to sign-up to Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services, which enables airlines to increase revenues by selling their ancillary services, such as meals and bags, through the travel agency channel. Travellers will enjoy greater flexibility to customise their travel experience by selecting extra services for their flight, while Amadeus-connected travel agents benefit from being able to serve their customers’ needs within an efficient working environment.
Ukraine International Airlines launched direct scheduled service between Kiev and Istanbul. The red carpet welcome of the first UIA flight took place at Ataturk International airport. The vent was attended by the representatives of Ukraine International Airlines, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, the Turkish aviation authorities, the front office of TAV – Ataturk International airport`s managing company, Havas ground handling provider representatives, as well as Turkish Airlines` representatives and other guests.
