Abu Dhabi will be the ultimate destination for motorsport action this weekend, as the much-awaited 2012 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix makes a welcome return to the UAE capital. The event will be hosted at the ground-breaking Yas Marina Circuit.
Route confirmed for 100th Tour de France
Officials at the Tour de France have confirmed the 100th anniversary of the event will remain exclusively on French soil. Taking place from June 29th–July 21st 2013, the event will be a key staging post as the sport of cycling attempts to fight back from the Lance Armstrong scandal.
Football is big business for UK tourism
As the Barclays Premier League kicks off again this week after a high-profile international break, new figures released by national tourism agency VisitBritain show that nearly one million overseas visitors watched a game of football here last year. These 900,000 foreign football tourists spent a substantial £706 million, the equivalent of £785 per fan and £200 more than the average visitor.
