Virgin Australia signs Amadeus partnership

Amadeus and Virgin Australia have signed a new multi-year agreement, extending their longstanding partnership.

The new agreement provides Amadeus travel agents with worldwide continued access to Virgin Australia’s full range of fares, seats and schedules under the same conditions as that offered through all other channels.

It also means that Virgin Australia will continue to be able to reach global travellers through one of the largest travel agency networks in the world.

Virgin Australia is an Australian national carrier that operates domestic and international regular passenger services, charter and cargo services and the loyalty program Velocity Frequent Flyer.

“We have boundless respect for Virgin Australia as an innovative, forward-thinking airline and are pleased to see our partnership with them go from strength to strength.

“This agreement furthers our commitment to providing our airline partners with the most efficient, neutral and cost-effective means to reach and partner with travel agencies, and at the same time gives our travel agency subscribers access to the best and widest range of content, ” Hazem Hussein, executive vice president, airline commercial, Amadeus Asia Pacific.

The extension builds upon Virgin Australia and Amadeus’ existing full content agreement and deepens the longstanding partnership between the two companies, including the 2015 agreement to provide the airline with the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control – Flight Management solution.

“We have enjoyed working with Amadeus to help us reach travellers around the world and are pleased to extend our partnership,” Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer Judith Crompton said.
