Europe’s first ever real gold facial mask is available onboard Costa Cruises’ brand new ship, Costa Deliziosa.
The world’s most opulent facial treatment is made from 24 Karat gold leaf and can be enjoyed in the ship’s luxurious Samsara Spa, the largest health retreat afloat.
Heralded as the ultimate in rejuvenation, guests indulging in the facial mask will have the gold applied and massaged into their skin until it disappears.
The 24 Karat treatment is reputed to lift and firm skin, reduce wrinkles and clarify the complexion by speeding up cell renewal through powerful magnetic forces.
It is inspired by the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra, who was said to have applied a gold mask every night, and will cost €345.
Costa Deliziosa, due to be officially named in Dubai on 23 February 2010, will boast a fully equipped spa featuring a Thalassotherapy bath, a rock sauna, a Turkish bath and a comprehensive list of treatments, in addition to the gold facial.
There is also a fitness centre offering a selection of exercise classes and a dedicated wellness restaurant, featuring a menu designed by Michelin-starred chef and founder of molecular cuisine, Ettore Bocchia.
Guests who book a special Samsara spa cabin can even enjoy unlimited, direct access to the adult-only spa, access to the Wellness restaurant, two exercise classes and two treatments.
