Costa Deliziosa, the newest ship in the Costa Cruises fleet, is due to be christened in Dubai on 23 February 2010 during her ‘Grand Inaugural Cruise’ and preceding her winter 2009-2010 program of seven-day Arabian Gulf cruises, is now online at www.costadeliziosa.com.
Visitors to the site can enter the world of Costa Deliziosa, combining the very best of the Costa Cruises product and Costa Deliziosa, synonymous with “sheer pleasure”.
User involvement is guaranteed thanks to web design based on the intensive use of video and imagery, showcasing the interiors of the Costa Deliziosa and offering a special preview of the ship’s cutting-edge design, through the use of premium materials such as marble, granite and stucco applied using the technique known as “spatolato veneziano”. Other decorative interior finishes including “parchment scroll” lamé, refined Zebrano wood and Wenge timber, Murano glass, and stylish polished and glazed steel. Also previewing online are the liner’s works of art, notably “Sphere” by Arnaldo Pomodoro and a large painting by Mario Donizetti, both displayed in the atrium.
One of the website’s main innovations are the video interviews with members of Costa Club (the company’s loyalty scheme) and shipboard personnel. Each interviewee offers an insight into the cruise experience, presenting the viewer with a fascinating portrayal of the new liner and her unique features. The Costa Deliziosa website, which is the first step in a major campaign of communication ahead of the extraordinary ship christening event in Dubai, is one of a wide range of initiatives online, whereby Costa Cruises puts the focus on the customer, enabling them to get virtual experience of the sights and sounds of the cruise vacation before they come on board.
