Officials at the Metropolitan Police have confirmed two people have been arrested at London Heathrow Airport on suspicion of committing terrorism offences.
A man and a woman, both 26-years-of-age, were arrested yesterday evening after arriving at the airport.
Both were held on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
These arrests are part of an investigation into travel to Syria in support of alleged terrorist activity.
They have been taken to a central London location and remain under arrest.
Scotland Yard said the pair had flown into the UK from Egypt.
