Scott Skomal named as Executive Chef at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel

Scott Skomal has been named as Executive Chef at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.  Skomal comes to the hotel from the Sheraton Overland Park, Kansas where he served as Executive Chef since the hotel opening in 2002.  Skomal, who has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for over 20-years, previously served as Executive Chef at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel and as Sous Chef at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

Skomal, a San Diego native, received his culinary training there. He has served on the culinary committee for Starwood, has been awarded as “Chef of the Year” by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association and is a graduate of the Sheraton Sous Chef training program.

Skomal, an outdoor enthusiast and a home-brewing enthusiast, found that the opportunity to move to Denver was a dream comes true for his family. Skomal and his wife have four children including two adapted children from Asia.

The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel is located at 1550 Court Place.  Food and beverage outlets managed by the hotel include Peet’s Tea & Coffee, 16Mix Cocktail Lounge and 1550 restaurant.  In addition, the hotel boasts over 135,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.
