Orbitz today announced that its one-of-a-kind Price Assurance cash refund program has hit the $10 million mark. Orbitz Price Assurance rewards Orbitz customers with a guaranteed automatic cash refund if another Orbitz customer later books the same flight or prepaid hotel room for less. Since the program’s inception in June 2008, more than 170,000 Price Assurance refund checks totaling $10 Million in refunds have been issued to customers, confirming the Price Assurance promise that Orbitz customers will always get the lowest Orbitz price.
Pamela Bailey of Los Angeles, CA received the Price Assurance refund check that broke the $10 million mark. “While I had heard about Price Assurance before booking my trip, I didn’t realize Orbitz really meant it or that I could benefit. But then I got a check for $350 which helped pay for the vacation,” said Bailey. “Going forward I’ll be booking all my travel on Orbitz!” Bailey booked five airline tickets from Los Angeles to Orlando on Orbitz. She received an automatic $350 Price Assurance refund check after another Orbitz customer booked the same itinerary for less.
