New appointment for HotelClub China

Online booking community HotelClub has appointed Dandan Cheng as VP & Managing Director, HotelClub China. In this newly created role she will lead HotelClub’s Chinese brand “HotelClub - 好客邦” (“Hàokèbāng”) in China’s rapidly growing travel sector. Based in Shanghai, China, Cheng will report to Nicolas Chu, President of HotelClub.

“Dandan’s leadership will propel HotelClub towards becoming a top choice for Chinese customers booking hotels for their outbound travel needs,” said Chu.

Cheng joins HotelClub from eBay Inc. where she most recently held the position of Country Manager of the eBay marketplace in China, setting up their cross-border exporting business, growing it significantly and achieving notable growth.

“HotelClub’s easy-to-use mobile booking apps and its HotelClub Rewards program that offers numerous club benefits, including up to 7 percent back on bookings and members extras (such as free upgrade when you stay), will be powerful tools to drive Chinese consumers to the Hàokèbāng brand,” said Cheng.

Cheng served in previous positions as a management consultant working for firms including A.T Kearney and Accenture. She holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School and a degree in Computer Science from Fudan University.
