Hyatt celebrates 30 year milestone in India

International hotel management company Hyatt Hotels & Resorts is celebrating 30 years of successful operations in India. Hyatt introduced the Indian customer to contemporary and stylish luxury hotels and restaurants serving authentic international cuisines with the Hyatt Regency Delhi in 1983.

As one of the oldest hotel management brands present in India, Hyatt has done successful business in India for three decades and will celebrate the milestone over the last quarter of the year across every Hyatt property managed in India. 30 years after the Hyatt Regency Delhi was flagged as a Hyatt, the company has added another 16 hotels and four new brands across India - Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt and Hyatt Place. In the next three years, Hyatt expects to be represented in India with all its seven sub-brands.

While the Hyatt product portfolio has aspired to become the most preferred brand in the markets it serves, each success has been underlined by the strength of its human resources talent. Thomas Pritzker, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hyatt Corporation, who was in India recently to attend the company’s first board meeting in Mumbai, said, “Our product is really our people!”

Celebrating the difference it makes to the lives of its guests, associates and communities, the activities will include a series of exhibitions and sale of affordable art by famous Indian artists in conjunction with the Smile Foundation to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children; special promotional offers and discounts for Hyatt’s loyal guests; open and free sharing of an E-Foodbook by well-known food writer and columnist Karen Anand celebrating Hyatt’s 30 year food journey in India and exciting social media contests and initiatives.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Shiv Kumar Jatia, Asian Hotels North Ltd, owner of Hyatt Regency Delhi said, “We opened the first Hyatt in India and our association with the brand has become stronger with each passing day. The brand stands for innovation and authenticity. We are pleased to be part of this 30 years celebration.”
