Monarch has continued its route overhaul with the launch of new services from London Gatwick Airport to Lyon as part of its winter ski programme for 2014/15. 

The flights, which will start on December 27th and operate until April 11th, are on sale now.

Some of the best French ski resorts are located within three hours of Lyon Airport and with the flight departing Gatwick at 07:10 in the morning meaning keen skiers can be on the slopes just after lunch.

Alpe d’Huez, La Plagne, Val d’Isère, Tignes and Méribel are all easily accessible, as well as the popular resorts of Les Arcs and Val Thorens.

Also close by is Les Deux Alpes which holds its own alongside some of France’s mighty ski areas but without the weighty price tag.
