Embassy Suites reveals $85m San Diego Bay renovation

Embassy Suites has announced the completion of the significant renovation made to its San Diego Bay – Downtown location.

The $8.5 million project includes total restoration of the property’s atrium and lobby areas, completed updates to 341 guestrooms, a revamped fitness centre and efficient re-design of the meeting spaces, hallways and guest areas.

The most prominent element of the project is the newly designed atrium and lobby, where guests will find entirely new flooring, lounge decor and furniture, as well as a new fountain, a large screen TV and a replica of the famous sculpture, BIRD.

When arriving, visitors will be welcomed by a brand new front desk area, and an eye-catching concierge and business centre.

For guests looking to unwind and socialise, the atrium’s newly replaced skylight improves the area’s natural lighting and provides a comfortable and relaxing environment.

“Our goal of conducting such extensive renovations across the entire hotel was to ensure that we maintain the brand’s character and charm, while enhancing the overall experience for our devoted guests,” said Rob Kravitz, general manager of the property.

Accompanied by scenic ocean, bay and city views, Embassy Suites San Diego Bay – Downtown’s enhancements include new upholstery and flooring, as well as new decorative lighting fixtures, sophisticated planters and artwork around the entire property.

Often frequented by business travellers due to proximity to the San Diego Airport, the establishment also improved its over 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

In addition to its fully equipped technology, updates to the meeting areas’ floors include the latest light fixtures and furniture, which have amplified the setting of this space.
