Celebrity Eclipse, the brand new ship from Celebrity Cruises is due to launch in April this year. The Vice President of Culinary Operations Jacques Van Staden will host a teleconference to announce an exciting new dining experience on the newest member of Celebrity Cruises fleet.
Jacques Van Staden was appointed the position of Vice President of Culinary Operations for Celebrity Cruise in 2007. In addition to the introduction of 10 widely varied restaurants on Celebrity Cruise’s Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Equinox, Jacques oversees the restaurants on six other Celebrity Cruises ships, and two on Azamara Club Cruises.
Jacques also oversees the training of hundreds of chefs, cooks, sommeliers, and food and beverage managers across both fleets. Jacques’ awards and accomplishments include being nominated as a “Rising Star of the Year” from the prestigious James Beard Foundation and training under the late chef Jean-Louis Palladin at Jean-Louis in Washington, D.C. His previous experience includes: chef de cuisine at Alizé; executive chef at Vegas’ Aladdin Hotel’s high-end London Club; and executive chef at Citronelle in Georgetown.
Celebrity Eclipse is scheduled to arrive in Southampton on 20 April 2010. The ship will be named in the city on 24 April 2010.
Onboard features on the new ship include a real grass lawn at the Lawn Club, a glassblowing show and studio developed with The Corning Museum of Glass; 10 unrivalled dining venues, and widely varied entertainment, including shows with breathtaking aerial acts.
