SoftBrands Hospitality, a leading international supplier of enterprise-wide software and Internet-enabled solutions for the hospitality industry, will provide Internet reservation company Hotels.com
with an electronic reservation delivery component.

This component is part of SoftBrands` new “Connect” platform, which connects all SoftBrands PMS products directly to Internet distribution companies as well as global distribution companies.

Hotels.com
is the first major Internet distribution engine to use the Connect platform as a delivery system. Hotels.com communicates the details of reservations—booked from the company`s contracted allotment—to each respective property. The electronic delivery model provided by Connect is a more immediate method, since the reservation information is delivered directly to the hotel`s property management system, with no need for re-keying or any other manipulation of the data. Connect delivers to properties that utilize SoftBrands` PMS systems; however, the platform is able to work with any property management system that uses an OTA interface.

“Many of our customers use SoftBrands` Property Management Systems products,” confirmed Shawn Freeman, Hotels.Com Chief Information Officer. “Since this piece will deliver reservations directly to a hotel`s PMS, it ensures the fastest and most accurate reservation entry possible. That translates into a better service for our customers, a lower processing cost for our hotels, and a cost savings for us.”
