Intercontinental Connects Guests To Wireless Internet

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts
has announced it is testing wireless Internet options as a new offering in two of its North American properties. The pilot program is currently in progress at The InterContinental Chicago where the hotel is offering members of its loyalty and recognition programs one free hour of service each day throughout their stay. Access is available in public spaces such as the lobby, restaurant and bar areas 24 hours a day.

The InterContinental Houston is scheduled to join the test by mid-March and will provide the same offering to its guests.
“Whether traveling for business or leisure, today`s guest expects hotels to have the technology they need, and that includes access to wireless Internet,” said Jeff Senior, Brand Vice President, North America, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. “Wireless access provides the guest

with flexibility and control of their communications, helping them use their time more efficiently when they are away from home or the office.”


Guests will be able to access the Internet via their WiFi-compliant network interface cards in their laptops and in order to utilize the wireless technology, guests can purchase access at the front desk. Tech supportwill be available. Pricing will continue to be reviewed throughout the test period.
