Amadeus Increases `Paper Free` Ticketing Options

Currently piloting e-ticketing for Virgin Atlantic
with a range of agents,
it is expected that from early September, Amadeus users in the UK will be
able to issue e-tickets for Virgin Atlantic flights. Singapore
Airlines

e-ticketing is also scheduled for implementation following a short pilot
phase in September.

This is obviously good news for the travel industry with key benefits of
electronic tickets including:

-  Lower administration costs for travel agents

- Electronic ticketing is the cheapest and easiest way to issue
tickets saving travel   agents both time and money

-  The elimination of problems arising from lost, stolen or damaged tickets

-  A more environmentally friendly solution to document production

Commenting on the development, Peter Cacioppo, Director of Sales for Amadeus
UK says:  “As e-tickets become more popular, it is important that travel
agents are able to offer their customers this option.  By continually
expanding our range of e-ticketing carriers, Amadeus is enabling agents to
meet and exceed the demands of 21st century travellers. E-ticketing reduces
agency administration costs and helps the environment by reducing paper
consumption.”
