Delta.com Offers More Customers More Time to Check in Online

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) customers now can take advantage of self-service check-in through delta.com for all U.S. operated Delta Connection and Delta Express flights between six hours and 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Previously, delta.com check-in was available up to four hours prior to departure for Delta’s U.S. operated flights.
“Check-in through delta.com means one less line for customers when they arrive at the airport. They save time and have more control of the travel experience,” said Steve Scheper, Delta’s managing director of e-Business, Business-to-Consumer. “We are committed to making our customers’ travel experience as smooth as possible. Enhancements to products like delta.com check-in are an important part of that goal.”
SkyMiles members can avoid ticket counters and save time by checking in through delta.com and printing boarding cards from their personal computer. For Delta flights, Medallion members also can check in through delta.com with a wireless Palm Powered? handheld or Web-enabled mobile phone, and using their SkyMiles Medallion card as a permanent boarding pass. Once at the airport, customers bypass ticket counter lines and proceed directly to security with their photo identification and e-ticket itinerary or printed boarding pass. Customers needing to check baggage can do so curbside, through self-service kiosks or at the ticket counter at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

Delta’s comprehensive list of check-in options also includes more than 385 self-service kiosks in 79 U.S. cities, and a toll-free telephone line for SkyMiles Medallion members.
