Cathay Pacific to introduce daytime service to London.

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced the introduction of a same-day-arrival service from Hong Kong to London starting on 2 July 2002. According to sources at the company the non-stop daytime flight “will further strengthen the airline`s ability to offer passengers convenient network connections, more choices of departure times and sharpen its edge in what is one of the most competitive long-haul markets.”
The outbound service will depart on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, raising Cathay Pacific`s total number of Hong Kong-to-London flights to 18 a week. The additional London-to-Hong Kong service will also depart on those days.
Cathay Pacific Director and Chief Operating Officer Philip Chen said: “We are delighted to introduce this daytime service from Hong Kong to London. Despite difficult market conditions, this is a further indication that we are continuing to build on our strengths of maintaining our core network and investing in a premium service and product. This is also an investment in the future, establishing more choice and frequencies for our customers when there is an appropriate opportunity to do so.”
