Hilton inks deal for UK Hampton projects

Hilton Hotels Corporation
has signed a major franchise deal, launching the first of a series of ‘Hampton by Hilton’ hotels in the UK.

‘Hampton by Hilton’ is Hilton’s “new kind of economy hotel” brand, which trades in the US as Hampton Inn, and focuses on consistency and comfort for business and leisure travellers alike. Key brand attributes include the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, complimentary high-speed Internet access and a complimentary hot breakfast - all of which have made ‘Hampton by Hilton’ the preferred hotel choice in the United States.

The first ‘Hampton by Hilton’ in the UK - and Europe - is expected to open in Q4 2008 at Corby North, and working with Hilton on this project is Hotel Solutions London Limited and Ramesh Dewan.

The 86-guestroom hotel will be situated on the new Rockingham Leisure Park in Corby, which is part of a multi-million pound regeneration scheme for the town.

Ramesh Dewan, who is funding the project said: “There are great plans for Hampton by Hilton in the UK and Ireland, and to be associated with the arrival of the first hotel and to be working with Hilton is very exciting. We share Hilton’s belief in the ‘Hampton by Hilton’ concept and, as a consequence, plan to launch 20 ‘Hampton by Hilton’ hotels in the next four to five years.


“Corby North was chosen as the first site as it’s a vibrant and growing community - with great demand for hotel product. In fact, the population of Corby is anticipated to double in the next 25 years.”

Simon Vincent, President for Hilton in the UK and Ireland said: “The introduction of the ‘Hampton by Hilton’ brand is an important aspect of our strategic ambition - one that we believe has huge growth potential in the UK. Franchise agreements, such as this will allow us to deliver greater scale for the brand more quickly.

“We currently have 75 hotels across the UK and Ireland, comprising the Hilton and Conrad brands and we look forward to doubling this figure in ten years - across the Hilton Family of Hotels.”
